Meg is a doctoral candidate at the University of Rhode Island where she researches queer topics in education with a focus on teacher education and classroom inclusion. She holds a master’s degree in Reading K-12 and has a background in early childhood education, elementary education, and digital literacy. Meg received a Fulbright Finland U.S. Student Grant in 2021-2022 and is currently collecting data for her dissertation, which focuses on queer topic inclusion in Finnish teacher education, at the University of Helsinki. During her time in Finland Meg also worked with local schools on gender and sexuality education and inclusion, presenting to students and teachers on topics like queer language, student and teachers rights in schools, and diverse literature. She also collaborated with DEI initiatives and queer student groups at the University of Helsinki to create more inclusive curriculum and classrooms for students and faculty. Meg grew up in Florida and moved to Rhode Island in 2019 where she currently resides with her partner in beautiful Newport, RI. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and refuses to quit playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
